Patients who have undergone refractive surgery can be tricky to fit contact lenses on. The corneal shape post-surgery is typically altered from a natural prolate shape to an oblate shape, making the fit and comfort of standard soft lenses, and even some types of gas permeable contact lenses difficult. Getting more creative with corneal and scleral gas-permeable contacts is often necessary to satisfy the needs of post-surgical patients.
